Some days when arising from the near dead at 4am it is instantly obvious I am feeling it. Other days, I feel ambivalent. Then there are days like this morning where I was not feeling it. At. All. Although not in the mood, I pushed myself to get out for some stimulating Saturday spinning.

Last night was another late work day, with meetings running through 11:30pm. Regardless of the hour I laid my head on the pillow, I was intent to ride in the morning, weather permitting. When I arose from a deep slumber at 4am, the first thing I did was peep outside. Lo and behold, no rain!

Prior to knocking off for the night I briefly checked the weather report and saw the weather guessers proclamation of very little expectation for rain in the morning. I quickly prepared my electrolyte bottles and then drifted off to sleep, dreaming about cycling.

I awoke this morning at the crack-of-dawn at 4am like usual, scrambling out of bed and anticipating the weather forecast to be wrong. While still wiping the sleep from my weary eyes, I strolled into my office and peered out the window. Will I be allowed to ride today?

The post-rain weather today was exceptionally mild, almost to the point where I contemplated wearing a shirt with some sleeves. I quickly erased that nonsensical thought, rushed out the door, only to find it was lightly drizzling. Would I let a little rain stop me?

Awoke this morning to a beautiful early Monday with outstanding weather. When the door swiftly shut as I walked through it towards the garage, the temperature was perfectly mild with a slight hint of wind, and minimal humidity.

Despite not feeling one hundred percent, and at full strength when I awoke this morning, almost to the extent I was slightly nauseous, I felt amazing out on the tarmac today. I was able to maintain high speeds for longer distances, and was consistently speeding through segments.

Since I failed to ride yesterday due to being abnormally tired, this morning I woke immediately at 4am and was bright eyed and bushy tailed. After hopping out of bed and taking care of the necessities, I jumped into my superhero cycling gear, downed 750ml of water for hydration, ate
