Not being able to cycle the previous two days due to rain has been rather annoying. This has been a brutal work week thus far, and we are not even halfway through it yet. When I awoke this morning I was eager to get on Red Chameleon and hit the pavement, pedaling towards 50k meditative ecstasy.

Even though I only needed a mere 11k to hit my weekly goal, I almost did not get out of bed this morning. I was sleeping comfortably, deep in some dream-like world I have never before visited. The first alarm ostensibly rang at 4am and I unconsciously turned it off,

Today was a really fun day of riding. It started off with a 40k-ish up-and-back along the Tamagawa, followed by a ride into downtown Tokyo to prowl for a CrowdStrike advertising campaign ostensibly running at Tokyo Station, Shinagawa Station, and Roppongi Hills.

Last night I was pretty exhausted after two days of non-stop meetings. I laid down on the couch after my final meeting and passed out. I was determined to ride this morning, and had already prepped the necessities. Despite the torrid Thursday heat, today turned out to be a really fun ride.

It was easy to wake-up and get out of bed this morning because the heat indoors was uncomfortable. I felt fine and was psyched to get out and ride. Even at this early hour it is usually bright outside, but today there was so much overcast it looked like hell

This morning I was determined to crawl out of bed on time and hit the tarmac for a metric half century. Had. To. Do. It! Seeing as I used a recovery day yesterday, it was imperative to hit the saddle and get some exercise.

Unlike yesterday, the weather forecast for today has rain noticeably absent. As the front door cut through the brisk morning air and shut behind me, the sky appeared to echo those sentiments. Today I will get a full 50k completed.

Prior to passing out in front of the television last night I quickly checked the weather forecast. According to Japan's premier site, the outlook was for a 40% chance of rain right when I want to ride. You never know what mood Mother Nature will have on any given day. How was today's ride?
