This morning I awoke will the full intent and motivation to get out on the tarmac and ride 50k. All my hopes were dashed when I went out to prep Red Chameleon for the ride, and the stem valve broke off the inner tube, leaving me with a completely flat rear tire.

Not being able to cycle the previous two days due to rain has been rather annoying. This has been a brutal work week thus far, and we are not even halfway through it yet. When I awoke this morning I was eager to get on Red Chameleon and hit the pavement, pedaling towards 50k meditative ecstasy.

Once my alarm clock started screaming at me at 4am, I slowly started to become semi cognizant of my surroundings. My eyes reluctantly peeled away from their submerged sleep state, and I heard an unusual, faint sound off in the distance. What was happening around me now?

Even though I only needed a mere 11k to hit my weekly goal, I almost did not get out of bed this morning. I was sleeping comfortably, deep in some dream-like world I have never before visited. The first alarm ostensibly rang at 4am and I unconsciously turned it off,

Today was a really fun day of riding. It started off with a 40k-ish up-and-back along the Tamagawa, followed by a ride into downtown Tokyo to prowl for a CrowdStrike advertising campaign ostensibly running at Tokyo Station, Shinagawa Station, and Roppongi Hills.

Last night I was pretty exhausted after two days of non-stop meetings. I laid down on the couch after my final meeting and passed out. I was determined to ride this morning, and had already prepped the necessities. Despite the torrid Thursday heat, today turned out to be a really fun ride.
