Post-typhoon weather is usually really beautiful. This morning was no departure; the sky was lovely shades of blue, and the sunrise was absolutely stunning. Today was the perfect day to take to just soak in all nature was offering.

The plan for this weekend was to take Red Chameleon out for two 50k rides on Saturday and Sunday. Unfortunately that plot was rewritten thanks to a nearby typhoon causing highly unstable weather across Tokyo. Sadly, cycling this weekend is out of the equation.

After a short two-day unexpected absence I made a return to the tarmac, feeling refreshed thanks to catching up on much needed sleep. When my alarm shook me from a deep slumber, I immediately jumped out of bed, completed pre-ride prep, and headed upstream along my normal daily cycling route.

The week started off with a marvelous Monday morning metric half century, where I set a personal record for the upstream segment. Today I continued that trend, riding another 50k but in much milder conditions compared to yesterday.

Despite getting my first COVID-10 Pfizer jab yesterday and being told not to do any overly strenuous exercise, I woke up at 4am feeling exceptionally motivated. I jumped out of bed, ready to pounce on Red Chameleon and get some much needed vigorous work on the tarmac.

The last two days I was unable to ride for various reason, but this morning I was determined to get out on the tarmac for some exercise. I could feel my body yearning to sweat and burn some calories while taking in the fresh morning air along the Tamagawa.

Not being able to cycle the previous two days due to rain has been rather annoying. This has been a brutal work week thus far, and we are not even halfway through it yet. When I awoke this morning I was eager to get on Red Chameleon and hit the pavement, pedaling towards 50k meditative ecstasy.

Even though I only needed a mere 11k to hit my weekly goal, I almost did not get out of bed this morning. I was sleeping comfortably, deep in some dream-like world I have never before visited. The first alarm ostensibly rang at 4am and I unconsciously turned it off,
